An astronomical watch with ten worlds in hard stone, built in code.
The live preview runs real 3D in your browser, so on this device it can take longer to appear and scroll less smoothly. The video above shows the full site.
An astronomical watch in rose gold and midnight blue, built entirely in code and drawn live with three.js. Ten worlds cut from hard stone stand over an aventurine dial, with a zodiac sub-dial for the hours, a flying tourbillon under a gold bridge and the Moon's true phase at six, all under a sapphire dome in an aurora sky wrapped in strands of gold. Scrolling slows time twelve times, opens the case and sends every stone into orbit at its true place in tonight's sky. Visitors can wind it, light it with the cursor, run the sky through the years and switch to a blueprint view, and the hands keep their local time. For watchmakers, jewelers and luxury brands.
How it's made
One clock drives everything
A real going train beats six times a second and turns every wheel, the tourbillon once a minute and the hands, which show the visitor's local time. Holding Wind charges a 72-hour reserve.
Flat parts are sketched, not modeled
Plates, bridges, the case band and the black dial bridges are circles and capsules blended as signed distance fields, traced with marching squares and extruded with polished bevels. The movement sits turned 45 degrees under the dial so the tourbillon shows at half past seven.
Stones cut in code
The five faceted worlds are spheres of about 300 flat facets in offset rings (half that on phones). A shader traces light bouncing inside each stone, colour by colour for fire, with glints that twinkle as it turns. The lapis Earth with gold continents, the rhodochrosite, the red jasper and the sunstone are drawn by shaders too.
The real sky, tonight
Each world's place comes from its mean orbit on the visitor's date. When the case opens, the stones lift off their settings into wide orbits at those places, the Moon keeps to the Earth at its true phase, and Hold to travel runs the sky through the years.
A dial full of work
An aventurine plate with copper crystals at several depths, a blue sunray zodiac sub-dial whose gold pointer rests on the Sun's sign, a Moon window at six, gold settings with bead-tipped prongs, and a meshing gold train turning through the open center.
Lit like a product still
A baked studio of softboxes and small lamps for sparkle, a sapphire dome with real thickness, soft shadows and bloom on true highlights only, in an aurora sky with strands of gold light wrapping the watch.
A camera script on a budget
Cues pinned to nine sections set the framing, the opening, the 1/12 slow motion and the labels. About 578,000 triangles on desktop and 374,000 on phones, with lighter stones and shaders on phones and a resolution that drops on slow devices.

Designed and built by Designed by Parallel, LLC. Every part is generated in code when the page loads: signed-distance sketches, lathed profiles, generated gear teeth and cut stones, with the metal finishes, stone patterns and aventurine drawn by shaders. The page loads no model files, photos, video or sound samples; the two .glb files in models/ are exports of the same code. The kit uses no model files, photos, logos or names from any other maker. Planet positions come from public mean orbital elements.
